Notice with Deepest Sympathies!

It is with our Deepest Sympathies and Heaviest Hard, I like to share a very sad news of our Dr Ajit de Silva passed away peacefully on Tuesday 20th February 2024 at his residence.

On behalf of the Milton Keynes Vihara community we would like to express our deepest condolences to the family of Dr Ajit de Silva on the sad news of his death.
May he attain Supreme Bliss of Nibbana!

It was a very difficult time for all of us to come to the acceptance of this big loss. Therefore we all needed bit of time to respect the wishes of Dr Ajit de Silva and Family. Therefore we are sorry for this late message.

Dr. de Silva was a driving force and source of great inspiration for the establishment and maintenance of the Milton Keynes Vihara, making immeasurable contributions to our work. We would like to demonstrate our gratitude to him and his family by organising a Dhamma Sermon for the whole community, which will also be an opportunity for us to remember the positive impact he had on our lives and to share merits with him.

The memorial Dhamma sermon will take place on Saturday, 2nd March at the Summerlin Centre in Woburn Sands (MK17 8SG), starting at 6pm.

The funeral arrangements have been made for Monday, 11th March at the Crownhill Crematorium in Milton Keynes (MK8 0AH), starting at 3:30pm.

All are welcome to join these events to remember and share merits with Dr. Ajit de Silva.

උප්පාද වය ධම්මිනෝ
උප්පජ්ජිත්වා නිරුජ්ඣන්ති
තේසං වුප සමො සුඛො

සියළු සංස්කාරයෝ (හේතු වලින් හට ගන්නා සියළු දෙය) වෙනස් වේ (අනිත්‍යය).
ඒ සියල්ල ඇති වෙනවා සේවා ම නැතිවීමද ධර්මතාවයකි.
මෙම ඉපදීම නැතිවීම ස්වාභාවයෙන් මිදීම උසස්ම සැපතකි.
නිවන් සුවය යනු ඒ පරම සැපතයි.

අප මිල්ටන් කීන්ස් විහාරස්ථානයේ ආරම්භයේ සිටම වර්ථාමාන දියුණුව පිණිස ඉමහත් කැපවීමෙන් කටයුතු කළ
ආචාර්ය අජිත් ද සිල්වා මහතාමාණන්ට නිවන් සුව අත්වේවා!

Unexpected things may happen. Expected things may not happen.

Anicca vata sankhara
Uppada vaya dhammino
Uppajjitva nirujjhanti
Tesam vupasamo sukho

“All that arises, O how unlasting,
Increase and swift decay, such is life.
All that has arisen, all that must pass away.
No more to rise or fall, that peace (Nibbana) is best away.”

Dr Ajit de Silva dedicated all his effort and worked tirelessly for Milton Keynes Vihara Community from the beginning to the present progress.
May he attain Supreme Bliss of Nibbana!
