The Navam Full Moon Poya day is the second Full Moon Poya Day of the year.
There will be a special Ata Sil programme as usual on *Sunday 16th March*. (Children’s programme will be of a shorter duration and adults can also terminate sil (sil pavarana) early. We welcome all to participate in this meritorious activity.

මැදින් (මාර්තු) පුර පසළොස්වක පොහොය දිනය වසරේ තෙවන පුර පසළොස්වක පොහෝ දිනයයි.
ඒ නිමිත්තෙන් විශේෂ අටසිල් සමාදනයක් සහ වැඩ සටහනක් මිල්ටන් කීන්ස් විහාරස්ථානයේ දී මාර්තු මස 16 වන ඉරු දින සිදු කෙරේ.

Significances on Madin (March) Full Moon Day
මැදින් (මාර්තු) මස පුර පසළොස්වක පොහෝදින විශිෂ්ට සිදුවීම්

1. ගෞතම බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේ තම බුද්ධත්වයෙන් වසර 7කට පසු විසි දහසක් ශ්‍රාවක පිරිස කැටුව රජගහ නුවර වේළුවනාරාමයේ සිට තම උපන් නගරය වන කිඔුල්වත් පුරයට පාගමනින්ම වැඩම කිරීම සහ එහිදී තම පිය රජතුමා ඇතුළු ඥාතී පිරිස සහ ශාඛ්‍යවංශිකන් හමුවීම සහ වෙස්සන්තර ජාතකයෙන් දහම් දේශනා කිරීම.
🔔 Seven years after the enlightenment Lord Buddha, along with a retinue of 20,00 disciples, trekked from Veluwanaaramaya, Rajagaga to Kimbulwathpura, his hometown for the first time to meet his father king Suddhodana, relatives and friends of Sakya clan preached the Dhamma from Vessanthara Jayaka.

2. ඥාතීන්ගේ මානය බිදීම සදහා යමාමහ පෙළහැරක් පෑම.
🔔 The Buddha also performed the twin miracles, Yamamahapelehara to break the pride of as his elder relatives, who were reluctant to worship him.

3. සුද්ධෝන රජතුමා සෝතපන්න මාර්ග ඵල ලැබීම සහ තුන්වන වරටත් වන්දනා කිරීම.
🔔 King Suddhodana attained the state of Sotapanna and paid the homage for the third time.

4. යශෝදරා දේවිය තෙරැවන් සරණ යෑම එතුමියට සද කිදුරැ ජාතකය දේශනා කිරීම.
🔔 Princess Yasodhara Devi took the refuge in Triple Gem and Lord Buddha preached Sandakinduru Jataka.

5. රාහුල කුමරැ සහ නන්ද කුමරැ බුද්ධ ශාසනයට ඇතුළුවී පැවිදි වීම තුලින් ගෞරවය, ආදරය සහ සහෝදරත්වය සංකේතවත් වීම.
🔔 Prince Rahula and Prince Nanda entered into the order and become monks by showing the significant of respect, love and brotherhood.

6. ශ්‍රී පාද වන්දනා සමය ආරම්භ වීම.
🔔 It marks the climax of the “Sri Pada” pilgirimage season.
