A Rare and Great Meritorious Deed that takes place only once a year.

Katina Pinkama, being one of the highest forms of meritorious activity, also highlights the close association that has existed throughout history between the Sangha and the laity.

🌷Please dress appropriately (white/ National costume) & be on time.

🌷Parking: Summerlin Center car park will be reserved for monks. Please use the public carparks nearby: Russel St carpark (MK17 8NU) and Chapel St carpark (MK17 8PQ). They are a ten minute walking distance from Summerlin Center. Please ensure your vehicle is parked in a marked bay and does not obstruct others. Also, please give consideration when parking on the street.

🌷Lunch and refreshments: Lunch is available for all the devotees. Light refreshments will be available throughout. However, your attendance in the hall during formal events will be greatly appreciated. We kindly remind all attending to respect the presence of the sacred relics and the Maha Sangha and to keep noise levels to a minimum.
🌷Safety and Hygiene: Be sure that all children are always supervised. Ensure toilets are left in the way you would expect to find them, particularly with young children.

On the day, devotees can contribute any donations and offer atapirikara and robes at Summerlin centre.

10:15 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Perahera bringing the sacred Buddha Relics and the Katina robe
(Katina robe available for stitching by devotees until 13:00)
10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Introduction and welcome
Lighting the traditional oil lamp
Pansil and offering Buddha puja
11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Offering of dana to the Maha Sangha
11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Tea and light refreshments for devotees
12:30 p.m. – 12:45 p.m. Preparing perehera in the car park area
12:45 p.m. – 13:00 p.m. Perahera accompanying the Katina robe
13:00 p.m. –14:30 p.m.  Dedicating the Kathina robe
Conducting the Vinaya Kamma by the Venerable Maha Sangha
Anushasana
Offering Ata Pirikara, robes and gifts
Anumodana

14:30 p.m. – 16:00 p.m. Dana for devotees
